4 Things You Need in Your Life Planner

My Life Planner-OnePointofView.net

While so many people use smartphones as their planners, organizers, reminders and pretty much everything else, when it comes to life planning, I’m a pen and paper kind of girl. I use my phone during the day to note some things and later I write some of them (the ones I want to look into more) in my life planner.

Actually, my phone is my daily planner where I note things I need to do in the next few days and at home, I have my life planner where I can see a bigger picture of my life – how it is organized and the things I want to do.

New planner represents a new start, new goals and new possibilities. For me, the best time to start a new life planner is at the beginning of the year. Of course, you can start it whenever you want.

No matter when you choose to start using it, there are 4 things you need to write in it:

1. IMPORTANT DATES

I use My life planner from Designer blogs and print only the pages I’m going to use. You can use important dates and birthday page and put it together with gift ideas. Take your time and don’t forget a birthday or anniversary.

2. GOALS AND MONTHLY CHALLENGES

In my post Take control over your life with these 4 steps I write about the importance of goal setting and taking the steps to achieve them. Challenge yourself and write it on the yearly vision and goals page. It is easier to achieve goals if you take small steps, so it’s a good idea to have monthly tasks to get closer to what you want.

3. REMINDERS

Use a monthly calendar to write the things that happen once or twice a year such as things you want to do next year for Christmas. For daily reminders, I use my phone.

4. INSPIRATIONAL QUOTES

Write the things that will make you move on. When I’m kind of lost, I love to read what I wrote when I was motivated. It takes me back on track.

There are also pages in this life planner, such as weekly cleaning schedule, weekly meal planner, grocery list etc., that you can put on your family to-do list board.

Usually, when I buy a new planner, I get overwhelmed by all the pages I don’t actually use because when I see a blank page, I feel like I’m not doing enough.:-) That’s what I like the most about this life planner, it fits everyone’s needs. Just print the pages you wanna use and fill them with what’s important to you. Plus, it looks beautiful.😊

I also use their free blog planner for writing down things related to my blog.

And one more important thing…don’t just write. Check it and get things done.

  1. Planners are literally lifesavers, I also write down dates and important meetings and my phone is also big help apart from the day I forgot birthday parties since I didn’t record them on my phone so the thing I need to remind myself is to re-check my schedules but for next year I have chosen not to write down my goals which will be difficult but I am yet to see the outcome.

    1. Yes, I agree. It’s funny that we have a planner so that we don’t forget things, but then we forget to check our planners😂 It happened to me, too.

  2. I’m learning that it is okay to use multiple planners and am now embracing the advantages of separating out different tasks. Thank you for letting me know that I am not completely bonkers to prefer different planners for different functions—my bills have their own planner. 😀 Just ordered a Plum Paper Planner. Planning to crush it in 2018!

  8. I’m also a pen over a paper girl. I do not experience a life planner like something that saves my life, but rather as an interesting hobby and some sort of diary.

  9. I am using a Whitney English planner… but it is one of the stripped down versions sold in Target and find myself really desiring the inspiration quotes that are missing from mine.

  10. I am officially the worst when it comes to following my planner. I literally just forget to check.
But it’s a new year and am definitely going to try to more deliberate about following through with my set goals.

  15. I’m such a sucker for a good planner. Over the years, I’ve tried online versions but always find myself coming back to the good old-fashioned pen and paper. To date, I haven’t thought of adding inspirational quotes, but this week I’m going to start. Such a great idea to add positive vibes! x
