How To Be Consistent In Life - Every goal we set has a bigger one behind it. Do you know what is yours? Here are 4 Steps To Get Things Done, Every Time #productivity #consistencyiskey #consistencyquotes

If you’re like most people (I actually think all the people but in different areas), you’ll recognize this process:

– you have a goal (you’ll start working out, eating healthy or grow your business), then you set the time in a day for it. You’re super happy and motivated and doing great for 2-3 weeks. And then one day you just couldn’t do it or didn’t feel like it and you give up! Sounds familiar?

Been there, done that!

Being consistent takes a lot of courage and self-discipline. There isn’t a successful person out there that wasn’t consistent in their vision to achieve their goals.

Keep in mind that most successful people failed many times before they were successful. The only difference is that they stayed consistent.

So the question is: what is your goal worth to you?

“Everyone must choose one of two pains: the pain of discipline or the pain of regret.”

I love this quote by Jim Rohn: „Everyone must choose one of two pains: the pain of discipline or the pain of regret.“ Everything has its price. Both consistency and inconsistency. Which one you’d rather pay?

You’ve tried so many times and it didn’t work. I’m here to help you try again, but this time use a different approach. What would it feel like to know the way to be consistent every time?

Walk away today knowing 4 keys to be consistently consistent and improve anything in your life.

The point of consistency is to meet your goal and then maintain that level. In order to do that, just setting up goals is not enough. You have to know why you’re doing it: what will it mean to you if you reach that goal (I’m talking about big things here) and how will you feel if you don’t.

Visualize. Imagine the person you picture yourself to be once you reach that goal. What habits and skills will you have?

How to be consistent

Let’s say you want to start your own business. Earning a lot of money or being successful is just one of the things you’re aiming for. But the big goal, the one that will truly help you be more consistent, is to succeed in making something you believe in – a reality. To be the person who made something out of nothing. To be the person who’ll be able to tell her kids: If I did it, so can you!

Be consistent in becoming that person (this mindset is crucial for #4).

The way to know your big why is to simply ask it.

Ask yourself:

  • Why do I want to workout? To lose weight. Why do I want to lose weight? To be healthy and look good. Why do I want to look good?….
  • Why do I want to create a business?
  • Why do I want to change my diet?
  • Why, Why, Why?

These answers seem obvious and we tend to take them for granted. But actually thinking about them is what keeps us going.

How To Be Consistent in Life: 4 Keys To Get Things Done Every Time

The most important thing is to pick just one goal and stick to it. If you try to do multiple things at the same time, you’ll end up doing nothing.

“If you chase two rabbits, you will not catch either one.”

„You can’t just visualize your success and go eat a sandwich.“

This is so, so important! A goal without a plan is just a dream.

Create a schedule for it, but be as specific as you can. Set certain time in a day you’ll work on your goal. For example, you can make it a part of your morning routine or even get up a bit earlier for this.

Every Sunday, write a schedule for the next week. It doesn’t matter if it’s the same as it was last week. Just write it down and put it somewhere it can be seen.

This is usually the part when we start to lose motivation and interest.

Here’s the deal. Expecting to be motivated all the time is simply unrealistic. Are you motivated each day to go to work? No! But you’re still going. Because, if you want to keep your job, you pretty much have no choice.

This is why I love the Nike slogan “Just do it.” Don’t think about it too much. Don’t waste your time thinking if you’re motivated or not. Just do it!

The same goes here. If you want to accomplish something, you have no choice but to keep going. Sure you can change the way of doing it (which we’ll talk about in the last key), but you have to keep going. If it will make things easier for you, imagine you have a boss supervising your progress.

„Of course motivation is not permanent, but then, neither is bathing, but it’s still something you should do on a regular basis.“ – Zig Ziglar

Thinking that this is easier said than done? Maybe! That’s why only a small percentage of people in the world are super successful.

After many years of being inconsistent in certain things, I’ve found a simple way to solve this problem.

Anticipate this process. Before you start with anything, plan how you’ll deal with this stage. Because you’ll get to it, that’s for sure.

For example, if you’re starting to work out, plan what will you do when you won’t feel like working out. You have a choice to make. Quit or take control and continue.

I’ll give you a hint. Now it’s not the time to be authentic and true to yourself. „I never follow through. It’s just who I am.“ shouldn’t happen. Now it’s time to make something you don’t like about yourself into something you’re proud of.

Before you quit, visualize how you’ll feel after a few days. Don’t do it on a whim.

When you contemplate the alternative, you will be inspired again.

Most people give up because they think they’re doing it the `wrong` way. This is usually about one of two things: it’s either an excuse (which you subconsciously know) or self-doubt.

The truth is that there is no wrong way to improve your life. There is only your way. And again, you have a choice: to learn from it and improve it or to quit and regret later.

There is no wrong way to improve your life. If you’re consistent in your intention to improve it, you’ll get there. That’s for sure.

Remember, you’re trying to do something that’s not in your nature. It’s simply impossible to do it perfectly.

This is the time to remember your why. It is much bigger than just a method you chose to start with.

Again, if your goal is to work out, you don’t have to be consistent in working out for an hour 5 days a week. You have to be consistent in your goal to create a workout habit. And there are many ways to do that, not just the one you first started with.

Every goal we set has a bigger one behind it. The big goal behind every `small` goal is to improve your life one way or another and build a strong character. When you change your point of view and look at it from this perspective, inconsistency becomes easier to overcome.

If you follow these 4 keys to be consistent every time, you’ll have the answer to a question everyone has asked at least once: how to stay consistent?

I’d ask you to trust me on this, but hey, I’d rather challenge you to see for yourself.

I loved reading this. Consistency is one of the big things that I really learned this year. Being actively consistent is definitely a big life skill to master. I especially like the part about “breaking up with perfectionism.” Perfectionism is a huge barrier to being consistent in all things in life.
